Chelsea Leyland
Power Mixing
Multi-talented Chelsea Leyland sat down with the Unlimited Magazine for lunch and gave us an exclusive on her exhilarating life. This London bred New York City socialite is not only finding great success in the DJ world but has also earned herself as a badass staple in the fashion sphere. When she’s not spinning for top industry leaders such as Valentino and Chanel, Chelsea is jet setting worldwide setting trends internationally.
With a background in the Arts from a childhood in a creative boarding school, Chelsea has had an aptitude for music since a young age. It was an acting career that brought this belle to New York City that eventually led her to the music world. It’s no news that the city is melting pot of talent, but who knew so much talent could reside in one single female.
With such great successes in her career thus far, it’s easy to forget that men are dominating the DJ world. Forbes list of the worlds highest paid DJs does not include any women. The apparent sexism in the industry doesn’t faze Leyland, in fact, she owns her sexuality.
Oh and boy how it really does. Leyland’s edgy style has caught the attention of fashion curators and has helped her gain rockstar status in the fashion world. Though her outfits are always show stopping, Leyland reveals that it’s accessories that really make her outfits.
Leyland’s current fave picks for accessories are: Charlotte Olympia clutches that are shaped like books for those days when you want to feel intelligent, Dominic Jones Jewellery to spice up even the most boring outfits, and Andra Neen caged bags that will give an edge to any outfit.
Despite her passion for fashion, Chelsea is a big fan of keeping it simple. Leyland’s preference is causality from the natural make up she wears, her organic natural taste in perfumes, and her choice to ditch the heels.
Simplicity follows through with her chose in men as well. If you think dressing trendy will catch the eye of this lady, you are mistaken. The whole dressing fashiony does nothing for her, and dressing in your comfy tracksuit will actually work in your favor when trying to impress Chelsea.
If these words were Chelsea’s key to success, then I’m adopting them as my mantra.
