When you ask Maison Martin Margiela to reinvent & innovate plain old Converses you should be ready for the classic MMM treatment. MMM collections are always questioning the norms of fashion and presenting its pieces through the technique of deconstruction and transformation, and so does this new & most exciting collaboration.
“The Maison has always been obsessed with white; it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling. A sort of poetry, with the passage of time, the shoe asserts itself,” says Maison Martin Margiela.
There is an element of time to the design, MMM X Converse sneaker are covered top to bottom with fresh coat of white paint, which will chip and fall the more the sneakers are worn and the true color beneath will be revealed. The styles are available in four color ways based on heritage colors from the Converse archives: red, black, navy, and Margiela-exclusive vintage yellow.
The unlimited team could not resist the temptation and had to allow you to already see what it will look like after, all you need to do is scratch the surface of the shoe.
